I was a little worried the basque waist might look awkward on my short frame, but it actually creates such a flattering silhouette. The adjustable straps let me get the perfect fit, and the berry color is just gorgeous for a fall wedding.

The criss-cross straps in the back are the selling point for me—they actually keep the adjustable straps from slipping during the whole ceremony and reception. The basque waist hit at just the right spot too, so I didn't have to fuss with the fit even after a few hours of dancing.

I'm 5'2" and usually drown in tea-length dresses, but this one hits right at my shin and the basque waist actually gives me a shape instead of swallowing me whole. The satin has a nice weight to it that doesn't cling awkwardly, and the back straps are easy to adjust on my own between fittings.
